Hekla in a storm
I first decided I wanted to go to Iceland when I read a book about an eruption of Hekla in the 1400#39;s (Dorothy Dunnett#39;s wonderful "To Lie With Lions".) This is the only time we saw Hekla without cloud cover, with a dramatic sky. The image is, yes, a bit noisy - it was taken at 3200 ISO through the window of a bus moving over a boulder-strewn highway at 30 mph in a downpour. But you get the idea...
